Don Bosco Higher Education South Asia convened its Annual Conference and General Body Meeting in Panjim, Goa, from November 18–20, 2025. Hosted by the Salesian Province of Panjim (INP), the three-day event focused on the theme “Participatory Models of Education.” The gathering brought together leaders from Salesian Higher Education Institutions across India and Sri Lanka to explore collaborative approaches to academic excellence and institutional growth.

Rooted in the Salesian preventive system and aligned with the Church’s synodal call, the conference emphasized co-responsibility, shared leadership, and youth engagement. Participants examined practical strategies to strengthen teaching and learning processes, foster research ecosystems, and expand community outreach across campuses. Discussions also highlighted the importance of integrating faith-informed values within organizational management and quality enhancement.

The conference was animated by Fr. George Thadathil, SDB, General Coordinator of IUS/ISHE, Rome, who offered guiding reflections on mission-centred academia. He was supported by a team of expert facilitators—Dr. Glenn Shive, Mark Pixley, Shirish Sebastian, and Tomy C. Kallarakal—who led interactive sessions and workshops. Their contributions encouraged participants to rethink institutional practices, nurture student agency, and adopt participatory models responsive to contemporary educational challenges.

By fostering shared vision and actionable strategies, the Panjim conference reinforced Don Bosco Higher Education’s commitment to empowering youth and building transformative learning environments across South Asia.
